Welcome to the Tachyon Associates website. The
company was founded in April 2002 by Tim Watkin
and Paul Thomas. The company was formed in order
to continue the quality training being provided
to hi-tech and telecom professionals by its two
founders.
We specialise in 'hands-on' training, and
consider this to be the only way engineers and
technicians can become competent in the
installation and maintenance of the complex
communication systems that are used in a modern
network. We have two well equipped training
rooms, containing microwave radios (Siae, Nera,
PCOM, Alcatel etc.), fibre optic transmission
equipment, GSM base stations, power systems
(Melcher, Erskine, Harmer, Lambda) as well as
data networking equipment including Frame and
ATM. Alongside these 'hands-on' courses we also
offer a number of overview and generic courses,

We also provide a design and consultancy
service, recently completing the design of a new
reference oscillator for the 3G test market,

academic 'modules' for a local University. We
